In order to ensure that the coating adheres properly, the steel must be blasted in advance. The aim of blasting is to clean the steel and apply a steel profile. By forcing a high-pressure jet of abrasive medium over the steel it is possible to remove contamination from the surface and roughen the surface so that the coating adheres properly. The degree of purity of abrasive blasted steel substrate meets the SA 2.5 standard (in accordance with NEN-EN-ISO 8501-1). The blast profile is between 30 and 75 µm and is 50 µm on average.
