De Boer Staal and De Boer Snijbedrijf are CSR-certified companies. By fulfilling the criteria for the CSR certificate De Boer Staal and De Boer Snijbedrijf showed that corporate social responsibility is part of the company policy. But CSR (corporate social responsibility) does not stop with the acquisition of a certificate. If sustainable results are to be achieved, each corporate decision must be a balance between people, the environment and the company interest.
CSR is a form of business in which a company tries to strike a balance between people, the planet (environment) and economic performance (profit). The right balance leads to better results for the company and society as a whole.
In order to determine whether a company is conducting its business sustainably and responsibly, the Metaalunie has developed the CSR monitor in collaboration with Stichting Adviescentrum Metaal. This CSR monitor is based on NEN ISO 26000, the international guidelines for social responsibility (ISO SR). Using the CSR monitor, De Boer Staal and De Boer Snijbedrijf are assessed on the following points: the environment, working conditions, human rights, fair operating practices, commitment and end-user interests.
De Boer Staal and De Boer Snijbedrijf are ISO 9001 certified and as a result, meet the international requirements in the field of quality management. ISO 9001 quality management highlights process management, the monitoring and continuous improvement of business processes and the hitting of targets. Observation is monitored by Lloyd’s Register FPC (Factory Production Control (LRFPC).
The LRFPC ISO 9001 certificate is acknowledged worldwide and guarantees that De Boer Staal and De Boer Snijbedrijf can meet the quality requirements that many authorities and large-scale customers make.

Since 1 July 2014, the requirements of CE marking specified in NEN EN 1090 have been in force for all components of load-bearing steel structures.
NEN EN 1090 has four execution classes: EXC1 - EXC4, where EXC1 applies to non-load-bearing steel structures, to EXC4, for heavily-loaded steel structures, the traceability of materials and labour being factors of great importance.
De Boer Snijbedrijf is NEN-EN 1090 certified for all execution classes (EXC 1 - 4). This means that De Boer Snijbedrijf is permitted to cut, bend and make holes in load-bearing steel structures that present the highest potential hazard. This includes, for instance, steel structures for bridges, stations and shopping centres.
De Boer Snijbedrijf is authorised by Lloyds Register to remark materials with a 3.1 inspection report (formerly 3.1b) or 3.2 inspection certificate (formerly 3.1c) in accordance with EN 10204. This means that De Boer Snijbedrijf can easily arrange re-stamping for its customers. This has logistical benefits. As the customer no longer has to wait for the surveyor, the process runs more smoothly. Moreover, the plates no longer need to be stamped before cutting; rather, products cut to size can be stamped. This means that quality is guaranteed and the plate from which the product was cut and the properties and conditions it meets can always be traced.
