The Serkeborg was transformed from an icebreaking multipurpose support vessel into a diving support vessel by Koninklijke Niestern Sander shipyard.
For the conversion, De Boer Staal delivered sheet steel in grades A and DH36 quality, after shot blasting and coating them in its own steel coating facility with two-component shop primer Sigmaweld MC. De Boer Snijbedrijf cut and shaped the steel. Also, De Boer Snijbedrijf supplied the steel for the complete crane base, the accommodation unit and the bulbous bow.
